WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE HEC MS FINANCE AND THE MIF (M.Sc. IN FINANCE)?
There are two main differences. The first difference is the language of instruction. The HEC MS Finance is a bilingual program, in the sense that there are compulsory courses taught in French and others taught in English. Thus, a minimum knowledge of both languages is required to enroll in the program. It is to be noted though that courses are taught in English only during the first two months and that students can take intensive French language classes during that period so as to be able to take finance courses taught in French from November onwards. By way of contrast, the MIF offers all compulsory courses in English so that prior knowledge of French is not required. The second and main difference concerns the profile of candidates each program is looking for. The HEC MS Finance curriculum is designed to leverage on strong pre-existing quantitative skills.
