Choosing Preschool Homeschool Curriculum

Whenever you go in search of preschool homeschool curriculum, you will find that a lot of people have different opinions.  Therefore, it is important to remember that there is not a single curriculum that is going to work for everyone.  This is because children enter preschool at different ages.  Some children are as young as 3-years-old, which will make a huge difference in their cognitive and emotional readiness.  So, you will want to find a curriculum that also bears this in mind.  This is where choices become very individualized.

One thing that you will definitely want to look at is just how rigid the curriculum is.  Fortunately, since you will be homeschooling your preschool child, you will be able to tailor the curriculum to their interests and thus be a lot more flexible.  This is good because, developmentally, it will be very difficult to find two children who are on the same page at this age in their life.

Another thing that you will want to do is allow your preschooler to have the opportunity to direct some of his own activities.  After all, he is preparing for kindergarten and thus will need to be involved in some activities that will encourage independence and promote the development of his own individual strengths.
