1. Buying a Website has never been easier then it is in today’s society. With a majority of business purchases and financial transactions taking place online it is essential for your small or large business to have a Website that is user friendly. That being said, there are several other reason to have a Website. You may want a personal one to share info and updates about yourself to your friends and family or even have one that shows pictures of a special event in your life. There are endless reasons to have a Website and there are an equally impressive number of ways to buy and set up a Website.

Step 1 – You need to go and purchase the Website domain name you want to use. Example – if you want your Website domain to be named "Buy My Socks" then you need to go and see if that Website domain name is available. There are numerous sites that you can go to and see if a domain name is available. One of the more popular ones is godaddy.com though there are several more. Just Google "domain name purchase" and a list will come up of plenty of sites to choose from.

Step 2 – Once you get to the site you have chosen to buy your Website domain name then it is time to search that name. Every site will have a search engine box that you can type your selected name into and the search engine will scan the web to see if someone already holds the right to that name. One of two things will happen next…

    1. You will have selected a Website domain name that is available.
    2. You will have selected a Website domain name that is already taken.

If you have selected a Website domain name that is available then all you have to do is accept it and hot the purchase button. The price you will pay depends on variable such as how long you want the name, what company you are purchasing the name from and will you be using there hosting services or not.

If your selection comes up as taken then you still have some options available to you if you really want that name.

    1. Purchase the Website domain name with .org or .net at the end instead of .com. If you don’t really care that .com is at the end of your Website name, this is a good choice.
    2. The search box will give you some suggestions and play with your words some to come up with another choice for you. Example – if "buymysocks.com" is not available then maybe something like buysocks.com or buyingsocks.com is available.

Step 3 – Now that you have your Website domain name you need to figure out who will host your Website once you are ready to go live with it. As stated before many of the sites you buy domain names will also host your site once it is built. This is a easy option but sometimes you may want to go with a different package that an independent hosting site will offer you.

Example – You buy your domain name from Yahoo domains and they will host it for $35 a year. That is a fine choice but you can go to an independent hosting site and maybe pay $100 for the year and get unlimited bandwidth for your site and any other site you want to put up. You can put up 10 different sites and the price will stay the same. With Yahoo or Go Daddy you will pay a per site hosting fee. Both are good choices it just depends on how many sites you have and what sort of traffic you are trying to drive to your site.

Step 4 – You have your domain name as well as your hosting choice. Now it is all about setting up the Website template. You can purchase pre-made Website templates online from a number of sites. These Website templates have a pre-determined design so you just plug the info, words, pictures, movies etc in that you want and it is already there ready to be published. If you want to be really unique and you are familiar with web coding and display then your other option is to build a site from scratch. There are several programs available that assist you in doing this. Usually this type of Website design is designated to professionals who understand coding and display. The upside to this is that you are able to build and create just about any type of site design imaginable.

Step 5 – Finally you are ready to complete the process of buying and creating your own Website. You have your domain name set up, your have purchased a hosting package and your site template and set up is created. To finish the process you must now publish the site. To publish the site simply go to the directions area of the hosting package you purchased and follow the steps. Usually it is very simple. Just upload the site to the server and hit the publish button. Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a Website!
