Successfully completing a flawless face on a round face involves choosing the proper makeup to apply as well as using the proper tools to successfully do so. Professionals have mastered makeup techniques that downplay the roundness of the face, cheeks and the skin. This creates a flawless and longer looking face.

    Objective
The purpose of applying makeup to a round face is ultimately to counter the roundness of the look of the face. The face can be made to look longer by using makeup that will create a light look from the lips to the chin as well as from the eyebrows to the hairline.

    What is a round face?
According to seasonsindia.com, a round face is defined as a face with a large forehead with a rounded chin. Cheekbones are generally more wide than the jaw line and brow bone too. While a woman with a round face generally looks younger, she is given a variety of challenges regarding applying makeup.

    Face Makeup
Firstly, a concealer is imperative to creating a beautiful round face makeup look. Use a concealer as a highlighter underneath the eyes. Blend the concealer to the sides of the nose and on top of the cheeks. A sponge is a great tool to use when applying concealer, so that application is flawless.

When applying foundation, you will use a contouring technique. Choose both a light and a dark shade of foundation. Place the darker shade of foundation at the temple and along the jawline. The chin should be clear of all foundation. A sponge is the best tool for applying foundation. Place the lighter shade of foundation in the same areas as the concealer. Set the face with a light dusting of translucent powder.

A blush can be used directly on the cheekbones, and should not be swept up the cheekbones. This will accentuate the roundness of the cheeks.

    Eye Makeup
A round face looks best with defined eyes. Deeper colors such as brown or berries look better than that of lighter ones such as pastels or light pinks. The eyes also look best lined with a dark color eyeliner that is slightly smudged. A smudged eyeliner look can be achieved with a smudger brush or a cotton swab. Black mascara also further extends this defined eye look.

    Lip Color Choices
Women with round faces do have the ability to try out different lip looks. Additionally, no matter the color chosen for the lips, it can be downplayed as long as a coat of clear gloss is applied above it. This creates a more toned down look to even the brightest red lip color. Any lip color or products used on the lips ultimately add to the elongating illusion that we are attempting to create.

    Hairstyles
Those with round faces should focus on hairstyles that do not have much curl or wave around the face which accentuates the roundness of the face. Textured layers remain an easy way to modernize a hairstyle for a round face. Blunt cuts or bobs do not suit those with round faces.
