My Expertise: My expertise is in the area of Latin American history, with a special interest in the history of Mexico. Other areas of expertise are; Mexican culture and traditions and cooking.
I also have experience in education at the college/university level.
Experience: I have practical experience, as well as academic experience. I currently reside in Mexico, where I have lived for the past two years. I teach English part-time to my neighbors, write and research independent topics.
My experience is very different from most expats, because I speak Spanish and live in a non-expat part of the city. I see a side of life that is very different from what is seen in areas of tourism. My Mexican friends have helped me understand and learn about true Mexican culture, everyday life and food.
My familiarity with southwest cooking and the skills I acquired from many years of cooking, baking and cake decorating has helped me to understand the principals of the Mexican cuisine. Additionally, I have an interest in, and have studied the history of particular food commodities.
