Are Amish babies born at home?

Most Amish in this area use either a local birthing center – built and run by and for the Amish and Mennonites – or local hospitals. Some still have midwives who deliver at home.

Now, I’ll explain first that I’ve lived with the Amish all my life and its a birth at home that all my neighbors prefer. Not going to the hospital or some center- best place to welcome a new blessing is in the home. Amish have their own type of nurse and their own type of midwife but I have also heard of a mormon family with over 19 kids where the mother delivered each babe by herself. So I think the Amish preference for home birth is not uncommon. A passerby told me some singer JLO had her twins at home- you see could be babes and mothers are best off in a natural setting.
