Are gas stoves better then electric stoves?

I ask this question myself a lot as well. I’ve used electric stoves all my life and just recently I’ve been using a flat glass-top electric stove. It’s nice to clean, but one of the elements is out. And I have no idea how to get at the bottom of it to change it out. That’s one CON for the stove I’m using. Also, there’s the inconvenience of waiting until the element is hot enough for cooking. For that reason, I hope my next house has a gas stove. However, I often worry about the safety element in that option. So for cooking and longevity/maintenance, I would go with a gas stove. For safety and cleaning, I would go with a flat-top electric. Those would be my pros and cons.
