Are paranoid schizophrenics dangerous?
Well, you’ve asked the question about “paranoid schizophrenics” but then you go on to describe the actions of one in particular. So I’ll answer your question in two parts. Schizophrenic people are no more dangerous than anybody else is, statistically, if they’re sober. Abuse of drugs or alcohol raises the level of dangerousness by about 6 or 7 times (that’s for anybody). Schizophrenics are much more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol than the general population. So, unless your neighbour abuses drugs or alcohol, statistically, they’re as safe as any other neighbour would be. However, most people who do the wrong thing are neighbours of somebody, so it might be like that in your case. It certainly sounds like it, if you’ve had a restraining order taken out against him in the past. You should definitely be careful. You just don’t know who’s going to do what. I would report it to the police, just to be on the safe side. However, it might (?) be a good idea to know your neighbour better. Tha
