Are there any Linux savvy people on here?
I’m not familiar with pidgin, but your flash problems are most likely due to the fact that Ubuntu installs an “open” version of flash by default…. It’s standard practice, as most Linux distros do not include any software where a user has to agree to a license term that isn’t compatible with the GPL. Go to your program manager (under system) and do a search for flash… un-install any flash that happens to be installed, then go to a site with a flash animation and follow the links to install the actual adobe flash player… That should solve a lot of your problems. If Pidgin is a “messenger client” you might try kopete as an alternative. If it’s a “yahoo messenger” service you are trying to get to, you can also download the “real” yahoo messenger from yahoo’s site. Kopete has support for multiple p2p messenger services.
