Can deleted email be recovered?

0

This really depends on the type of email system used. Email stored on a machine using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express will often store the deleted emails, even if they have been removed from the Deleted Items folder. With a Corporate mail system, the process is very different. Microsoft Exchange Server uses a much more efficient database to store the information, and deleted content is normally only recoverable during the period it is stored in what is called ‘the dumpster’ on the server. This is normally set between seven and fourteen days, but can be more depending on the companies IT policy. This is one of the item that we would usually recommend requesting a change to during any form of litigation hold with a client.
