If the zombie was a host for another biological organism then fire would likely kill the parasite and thus halting the zombie. The same is true of technologically altered dead, or cyborg zombies. The electronic components would likely be sensitive to extreme temperatures. Either way fire is not the recommended choice for dispatching or deterring the undead.
