Can RFID readers cause interference with other systems since they are constantly radiating radio signals?
Yes. This is why it is important to set up your RFID reader network correctly to minimize the interference the RFID readers might have on other systems (e.g. WiFi networks, paging networks, cell phones, etc.), but also to minimize the affect of those systems on RFID. For example, this involves correctly positioning antennas and configuring power levels. Ina addition, proximity sensors could be used to turn on RFID readers only when packages enter through a dock door so that the reader is only reading and emitting radio signals when required.
