The Mayor of the city of Cleveland does have the power to veto an ordinance. If an ordinance is vetoed, City Council can reconsider the ordinance and hold another vote. If two-thirds of the council members vote to pass the legislation, the Mayor’s veto is overridden and the ordinance becomes law.

What happens if the Cherry Hill Town Council and Mayor adopt the Committees model ordinance before or after enough signatures have been gathered?
