Could a child diagnosed with global developmental delay be caused by neglect?
There can be many causes, physical causes, for global developmental delay. This is a tragic situation because the child needs more attention, not less, in order to reach his potential. It is certain that the parents neglect is having a powerful impact on the development of this child, but is probably not the sole cause of the delay. Telling a child to f*** off is tantamount to abuse, not neglect, especially a child with special needs. I would seriously make a call to child protective services. If nothing else, it might shock these people out of their destructive behavior.
