Did Wal-Mart consider expanding their existing store?
In 2002 the City presented Wal-Mart with a proposal for expanding their store at its current location. This proposal was actually more generous in the incentives offered to Wal-Mart than the current proposal, and included demolishing the old Albertsons building, closing streets, etc. Wal-Mart rejected this proposal and sought a site on Highway 287.
