If the drug you’re talking about is caffeine, then yes. We drink massive amounts of Red Bull so I wouldn’t be surprised if Tiesto were taking in a lot of it. Some DJs probably have experimented with drugs in the past, but less so in this decade. There’s a sort of higher-level intellectual listening going on in EDM right now that allows people to truly appreciate the music. People who need controlled substances to enjoy the music aren’t enjoying it correctly and are completely missing the point of the tracks. The music can change the scenery in a room, but you have to think and be creative; that’s just one of the things it can do. Eventually, it becomes second-nature and it just comes to you. The bottom line is, the era of drugs and EDM is dying out. I don’t think Tiesto is using any controlled substances, but he certainly isn’t half the producer he once was.
