Stainless steel doesn’t rust, but if you were to use anything like steel wool to brush the car, small particles of the steel wool could get trapped within the pits of the stainless and cause a rusting effect. Stainless steel will not corrode naturally, but can be adversely affected by certain chemicals or overexposure to water – especially salt water.
