Does the Town have a database of floodplain locations, or digital maps?

0

At the moment, the Town doesnt have a digital copy of the floodzones which can be overlaid with parcels. The State of North Carolina is undertaking a state-wide remapping of floodzones, which will be distributed in a digital form which can be overlaid with parcels or any other geographic information. This will allow us to graphically determine if your property is in or near a floodzone. Orange and Durham County maps are projected to be ready in Fall of 2004. You can visit the NC Floodplain Mapping Program website to read about this project, and see already-finished North Carolina counties and the kinds of information available.
