Does the TRC get any funding other than the $16M USDOT grant from RITA?
TRC staff and faculty prepare many proposals for external grant funding. Already grants have been received from the Vermont Department of Public Services, the US Department of Energy and the New England University Transportation Center at MIT. Other funding has come to the TRC to co-sponsor USDOT projects from the Vermont Agency of Transportation, the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization, Central Vermont Public Service, Green Mountain Power and Burlington Electric Department. In the last year the UVM Transportation Center has won 14 grants totaling $1.73 million from outside the UTC core grant.
