Does wine made with synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc taste bad?
” A few years ago, I was at a seminar/tasting with Michel Chapoutier, a well-known and respected French grape grower and wine maker who is a leader in Biodynamic farming. About an hour into his talk, someone asked: “Doesn’t all this sound pretty New Agey to you?” Without missing a beat, Michel picked up a nearby wineglass, took a sip and replied: “Let me ask you. Does this TASTE new agey to you?” We responded with a deserved round of applause. After all, isn’t that what it’s all about? Forget the snobs and their silly points: we want a wine that tastes good! I am a past president of the Sommelier Society of America, a wine educator, a sommelier, a wine judge in a several major competitions and currently own and run a successful wine shop.
