Dose a 6 week old puppy need a special kind of shampoo?

No they don’t need “special” shampoo. As long as it’s clearly labeled FOR PUPPIES! Do not use ANY human shampoo as this irritates the dogs skin and is made for “humans” not dogs. Only bathe your puppy once a fortnight. Oh and puppy/dog shampoo come in different scents so that will wash away and cover up the puppy’s odour. Don’t give him a shower now he’s too young. His skin probably hasn’t develop fully yet. Wait another two weeks. You’ll survive. It’s worth the wait otherwise your puppy’s skin could get rashes if bathed too soon!

They sell special puppy shampoo at pet stores. That would be best as dog shampoo would be too harsh for him when he is so young. Don’t get it in his eyes, nose, mouth or ears. Baby shampoo would probably be okay if can’t find puppy shampoo.

Use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo, it is real gentle on the skin and good for the coat, and it doesn’t burn the pups eyes.

DON’T give such a young pup a bath!!!! It should still be with it’s mother, and SHE should be cleaning it! There’s NO need to give it a bath for a while yet — if the smell bothers you so much, maybe puppies aren’t for you. There will be even more odors (wet dog, etc.) as time goes on, so get used to it! PLEASE — don’t give him a bath already! That’s what his mom is supposed to be doing. WHY isn’t he still with his mom???!!?
