How can I dissociate Phosgene and separate the constituent CO & CL2?

0

CO and Cl2 react readily to give COCl2 and it may be difficult to dissociate (break up) to CO and Cl2. May be by heating to high temperature it may decompose to CO and Cl2 but soon they will recombine to give COCl2 again. However, heating to high temperature followed by sudden cooling to low temperature and increasing pressure will change Cl2 to liquid and can be separated from CO which may be still in gaseous form.
