How can I tell the difference between a boxer puppy and a bulldog puppy?
Well…. boxer puppies will be bigger, and not quite so wrinkled. That’s about all I’ve got 😉 As for this mix you mentioned…. are you sure that’s the mix?? You never know with shelter pups. They could be anything, really. And remember that if you’re right about them and they ARE in fact bulldog/boxer, they’re only half boxer. If you are able to walk your dog a couple times a day, I think that would work just fine for a boxer (or boxer mix). Here’s some more info on boxers, just for kicks. Some of it also applies to bulldogs (short coat, short muzzle, etc.). http://www.boxerworld.com/forums/view_is… Here are some pictures of 7 week old boxer puppies (from a reputable breeder). The older they get, the taller and lankier they will be as puppies. Very leggy and ribby =) unlike bulldogs. http
I’m glad you are getting your dog at a shelter, and that you are taking all of this into consideration. This world needs more responsible pet owners like you! If I had to guess, I would say that the boxer mix will have big paws to grow into, and the english bulldog would be smaller. Have you spoken with the folks at the shelter? They’re usually pretty good at spotting the breeds. They should also be able to help you find the type of dog you are looking for, based on their personalities more than their breeds. If this shelter isn’t that cool 😉 try your local humane society.
English bulldogs even as pups are not as active as boxers, both will be aprox 50 lbs but the boxer is taller and more agile, full of pep. More health problems and skin problems with the Engish bulldog. In an apartment the English bulldog would do better. The mix is cute though you never know till lderr what traits the puppy will take on.
