If you’re running Mario Kart DS from a DS flashcard (I do) as a NDS ROM then it’s a bit of difficult with download play, the only way I can get this to work is to go over to Multiplayer mode. If you’re using a real cartridge your save file (on the cartridge) may be messed up (somehow), if it is then the best way would to delete all your (personal) settings on your Mario Kart DS cartridge and start all over. (as for some of us it doesn’t take so long to clear Mario Kart DS) If you’re unsure about deleting your save file you can back it up by using: “reinmoon” (save file tool), but you’ll need a DS flashcard to run it.
