The history of the game in Scotland goes back so many generations; that’s why it’s as big as it is here. It would be good if there were some sort of derby games in Canada, like in Europe, to create that special rivalry they have here. It’s almost impossible to create an atmosphere like a derby game in Canada because the professional teams are so far apart from each other. You won’t get many away or traveling fans from Vancouver going to Montreal because the distance is just too far. Here in Scotland the furthest away team is only a few hours drive away, so it is so much easier for fans to follow their team. Realistically, it’s just going to take time for game to grow to the level it is here. How are you doing this season (on the second squad or first? Point totals etc)? I am playing for the Under-19 team, which is the 2nd team at Ayr United.
