How did the europeans treat the Native Americans?
For the native Americans of the time, their culture developed in a way that they used only what was needed and protected the land because it was life giving and worshiped by them as such. Although their methods were sometimes brutal and considered savage, they had a developed society, their own languages and way of life, however primitive to the Europeans it might be.
