You say you don’t want him crossdressing in the shop. It may very well be that the temptations of working in your shop could be one of the big reasons he doesn’t want to work there. It could also be (as you’ve already mentioned) that people would get the idea that he’s gay if he worked in your shop. 90% of all crossdressers are totally heterosexual, but the general public doesn’t see it that way. Crossdressing is a truly unique experience for heterosexuals, but is all too often misinterpreted by the public as being an indication that the crossdresser is gay or bisexual.
