Checkout www.mbi-trailers.com and click on registrations. All out-of-state trailers are registered with no tax fees at all. A 5 yr. registration and plate $90. that’s the complete cost.

See if there is a certificate of origin or if he can get you one. Also speak with your agent. They might be able to add it to your policy if you have a bill of sale since it’s year is before 1980.
