How do Muslim view Christmas since Jesus is also a prophet in Islam?
Islam honors Jesus Christ as a prophet, and they therefore honor the dates of his birth, death and await the day of his resurrection as a sign of the end of times. They do not celebrate Christmas, though many honor it by fasting or refraining from speech from dawn till dusk(A similar practice is done on the birth of John the Baptist (Yahya in Arabic) to Zechariah)– the aim is to honor the religious figure by not seeing, speaking or thinking ill and not giving in to mortal desires and sins. They do however greet Christian neighbors and friends and give them presents and season treats in honor of the occasion, and in countries with more prominent Christmas celebrations due to large Christian populations, they generally celebrate the whole thing, save for attending mass, which is a choice some people make to do as they believe that houses of worship are dedicated to God, regardless of religion, and that Jesus was sent to mankind.
