• Approach your rail by lining yourself up with the rail and the ramp. You can do this by rolling towards your obstacle (rail, box, ledge, curb, etc.) in an ollie stance at a 15 degree angle (or when you are more advanced at a more comfortable angle). • Get a decent amount of speed. You need to be traveling fast enough to make it across the object you are grinding fairly quickly. It will be hard to stay balanced if you are going slow, and you are more likely to have your board stopped by small irregularities in the surface. • Ollie onto the obstacle and keep your balance. Make sure to bend your knees and keep your body as still as possible. If you start wobbling back and forth, you will probably fall.
