Visioneer has been making computer scanners for years now, and as a result many of their older products have been classified as “end of life.” This means the scanner is no longer actively supported by Visioneer, and the company does not release updates to ensure the scanner works with newer operating systems. The 5300 USB scanner was released more than a decade ago, and drivers can be found for Windows 98 and earlier. Windows XP and beyond are not supported, however, and any drivers you install are not guaranteed to work right.
