How Do You Fix Broken Plastic Glasses?
Plastic eyeglass frames can become damaged and broken. Most frames are durable but as the plastic ages, it becomes brittle and is more prone to breaking. Sudden impact or compression can cause a plastic frame to break also. Steps can be taken to repair a broken plastic frame. Step 1 Scrape off any loose pieces of frame or residue from previous repairs. Do this gently so as not to break the frame further. Step 2 Wash your frame with mild soap and water and allow to dry completely. Wipe off with a towel. It is important that the frame be totally dry, so wait at least five or 10 minutes after washing. Step 3 Insert the lens into the frame if the part of the frame that is broken is the eyewire, the part that holds the lens in place. Step 4 Place one or two drops of superglue on the most inside part of one side of the broken frame piece.
