Like a Western saddle, an Australian saddle features the security of a saddle horn, and like an English saddle the Australian saddle is lightweight and easy to carry. But as with any saddle it is important to measure the Australian saddle carefully. Place the Australian saddle securely on its saddle rack or saddle stand. Using a saddle rack or stand will make it easier to get an accurate measurement. Place the tape measure at the front of the saddle horn and extend it to the back of the saddle seat.
