How Do You Remove A Door Knob Set?
Removing a door knob set is relatively easy and should take about five minutes; however, you must use caution to avoid injury from the internal working mechanisms of the lock. Open the door so that both sides of the door knob set are accessible. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two set screws from the door knob. One set screw is located on each side of the knob on one side of the door only. Remove these set screws by turning them counterclockwise. The set screw only has threads on the first inch of the screw; once you see the screw change to a smooth bolt-like appearance, pinch the screw between your thumb and forefinger and draw it out of the door knob set. Grab both knobs of the door knob set and pull them apart and out of the door. You should see the locking mechanism sticking through the door knob hole.
