How do you see the bossa nova genre in the future ~ local and abroad?
Miguel: Bossa nova is everywhere. Its influence can be felt in so many styles of music all around the world. It’s here to stay, in ever changing musical mixes and concoctions. Its pure form now belongs to popular music history, and what is more interesting to us is its current recycling and unpredictable evolution in many currents of contemporary music, from rap to smooth jazz to trance to chillout ~ that’s the direction we started to explore on our “Changes” album. Evelyn: I think bossa nova will always be around. Antonio Carlos Jobim is one of the best composers of all time. His legacy will live forever.
