If you boot up your computer and see a “Disk boot failure” message, there could be one of any number of problems with your computer that is causing it to fail to boot from your hard disk. By trying a series of steps to resolve the problem, you’ll be able to both narrow it down and fix it in a relatively short amount of time. Verify that there are no CDs, DVDs, floppy disks or other removable media inserted into the computer. If there are, remove them and restart the computer. Open the BIOS setup menu when the computer first starts up. The key to open the BIOS menu is displayed on the screen as the computer is first booting.
