How Does a Pedometer Work?

0

Pedometers are devices that, as you obviously know, count your steps. These devices are programed so that, with every movement of your hips, a step is added to the overall count. Some people do not move their hips in a large margin when they walk, therefor pedometers do not always work. Some brands are more sensitive than others as well. So it really depends on if you move your hips noticeably or not. I have found that pedometers that measure calorie burning are almost never accurate. I use a heart rate monitor instead. This takes your weight, height, and age into consideration plus uses your heart beat to measure calorie depletion. Best of luck!
