The KenTrol Energy Miser uses WatchDogs to gather information and control heating and cooling equipment so the computer can limit the energy input to the building. The building energy consumption will be nearly zero if the temperatures inside and outside are the same. . . the KenTrol Energy Miser computer simply calculates the periods where the building temperature can be allowed to approach the outside temperature (hence zero energy input) and, within the capability of the heating or cooling system, have the temperature back to the desired level before the next scheduled building usage period. Of course a minimum temperature (normally above freezing) is maintained at all times in very cold climates. The computer does four important functions.
