How far was the collapse of the Liberal state in Italy caused by the First World War?
I don’t think that the collapse of the liberal state in Italy was directly caused by First World War. I think it was caused by the desire to crush social unrest, political violence, socialism, communism and unionism. In particular, the Russian revolution caused socialism and unionism to grow. The fascist regime began in October 1922. It became a dictatorship in January 1925.
