How is the .hid 3500 file format different from the current .fsa file format?

In order to facilitate an HID specific workflow, the .hid file format was created to distinguish it from other file formats. This new file format captures detailed information on the reagents, instrument status, electrophoresis and analysis parameters for readout in the GeneMapper® ID-X v1.2 Software sample information tab.
