The Wisconsin coastal beach monitoring program is funded by the USEPA under the federal “BEACH” Act of 2000. The program is being implemented in Wisconsin in 2004 by a grant of $225,670 from the USEPA plus about $46,000 in addition funds from the WDNR.When it passed the Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health (BEACH) Act in 2000, Congress pledged nationwide funding of approximately $30 million a year through 2005.
