How long after baby is born does it take to do paternity testing?
Doing a paternity test on a baby can be done as soon as it is born. All they need is to swap the inside of the baby’s mouth… Doing it before the baby is born is not usually done – unless you are rich and can afford this type of procedure. (Not even if I was rich… would I let a Dr. stick a needle thru my stomach…yuk..
actually both answers are wrong i’m pregnant and dealing with the father denying his child. you can get peternity done before the baby is born by having an amniocentesis, they don’t take any blood from the child until after it’s born. they can get traces of dna from your amniotic fluid due to the baby’s skin flaking into the fluid as it grows and develops you can do this as early as 11 weeks but if you wait until your second trimester the risk is much lower. the risk is however you can abort or rather miscarry or get an infection. so if your doctor doesn’t recommend it then i wouldn’t do it.it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get paterninty results back after the test is done and if you get the state to do the test no one pays for it unless the child is his then the father has to pay the state back for the cost of the test. and just remember there is a risk women do it, but do the benefits outweigh the risk. is it worth losing your baby ust to prove to jerkface that your right.
