I have a Superscope PSD300 CD Recorder. Does Elevation™ software accentuate the PSD300’s voice suppression attributes?
Yes! Here’s how: As a PSD300 owner, you know that vocal reduction is handled with a simple ‘VR’ ON/OFF button. When you switch the VR algorithm ON, the Right and Left channels of stereo recordings are placed 180 degrees out of phase to remove the ‘center channel’ where most lead vocal tracks are positioned. Additional filtering preserves frequencies outside the range of the human voice. This type of VR only works when the original lead vocal was recorded to the center of the stereo mix (for example, many Beatles recordings were not ‘panned’ to the center and will be unaffected when VR is on). The output of the VR processor is also monophonic. Fortunately, Elevation’s Voice Reduction algorithm maintains the stereo separation of the original recording. There are also several additional controls that allow you to hone in on the lead vocal track for greater suppression: • Keep Vocal Only – An option to listen to the vocal while removing accompaniment. • Panning Control allows you to remove
