No, you have to verify your driving skill level to MakoTrac staff by starting off with the One Star kart. Once you have established your credentials you may be upgraded to a more powerful kart. Any upgrade is entirely at the discretion of MakoTrac staff and there is no entitlement to be upgraded at any time.
