The Hurd® brand is primarily a manufacturer of wood windows and doors. Previously, Hurd Windows & Doors, Inc. did sell vinyl products. This division was sold to another entity, American Weather Seal, Inc., in 2006. Unfortunately, since the sale, American Weather Seal, Inc. went out of business in late 2008 due to the harsh decline in demand in the housing industry. American Weather Seal, Inc. owned all assets, liabilities, and warranties of any Hurd® brand vinyl products purchased. Therefore, the impact of AWS’ closure with regards to warranties of Hurd branded vinyl products is that they are now nonexistent.
