If possible, buy a bed with legs or wheels rather than a platform bed that provides bed bugs with total access to you. Be sure that you talk to the delivery people about the requirement of the new bed being completely sealed in plastic, prior to it being placed on the delivery truck since trucks have been know to also be infested. Install a bed bug proof encasement on the mattress. Bedding on the new bed should not touch the floor, and no part of the bed should contact with a wall.
