Is hypnosis the same as meditation or guided imagery?
Hypnosis is similar to these things in that they all involve a quieting of the mind, and deepening of focus. However, recent university studies and advances in brain imaging technology (PET scans and fMRI) have proven that hypnosis affects the mind in a very special way which meditation and guided imagery cannot duplicate. Put simply, hypnosis accesses your mind in a unique manner that makes suggestions seem more “real” to the brain, allowing them to take root much more deeply, allowing rapid change. While guided imagery and meditation can be very relaxing, hypnosis is a much more rapid, effective, scientifically validated tool for making dramatic positive changes to your mindset and even physical body.
