Is it possible for honey gouramis to breed successfully in shared aquariaum?

If your Male Gourami is making the bubble nest, that’s a good sign, and the coupling of the male and female is actually a breeding attempt. Usually I’d say this probably wouldn’t occur in a community tank. Eggs if they are in the substrate are no good. The male will fertilize and put them in the bubble nest. If they are on the ground, they are either infertile or defective. You don’t need to do anything really as the male is going to watch over the nest and fry. Ideally though if you want to breed these fish, you’d want to put the male in a breeding tank, feed him a high protien diet, wait for him to build the nest. While this is going on, you will feed the female a high protien diet as well. After the nest is up, put the female in with the male. You will need to monitor this a little as the male will harass anything that comes near his nest. Once the female is done producing the eggs, take her out. Turn the filter setting down lower and use sponge filters once the fry hatch. FOLLOW UP
