Is the economic recovery plan an opportunity for SNCF Infra?
The recovery plan is a real opportunity, as are France’s Grenelle Environment Forum and the network renovation plans launched since 2006 following the Rivier report on the network’s condition and maintenance, which made people aware of the stakes of renovating it. Despite the international crisis, SNCF Infra will therefore have to manage strong growth in its business, especially in the engineering field. SNCF Infra undertook a campaign in 2008 to recruit 1,000 engineers to handle this. To train these new players, SNCF Infra has created the Engineering University, which will begin training in railway systems engineering starting in the autumn of 2009.
