Is the JHU satisfied with the manner in which the peace process is handled by President Mahinda Rajapaksa?
The JHU cannot be too satisfied by the way President handles the peace process. I think the President should understand the mindset of the forces that gave him strength to come to power. He cannot afford to neglect this factor during any exercise to find a solution to the war. The President should be mindful of the forces that brought him to power and the mandate he obtained from these forces. We feel the President is now interacting more with foreign governments and agencies, which we feel is not healthy for the development of this nation. We also feel he is highly influenced by some of the foreign agencies, especially India. India in our view is trying to mount lot of pressure on the President and if the President succumbs to this, it would not be possible to safeguard the dignity of Sri Lanka. Most of the people feel the President has no idea on any matter, whether it comes to war or peace. It is high time the President understood his position and acted with sensitivity to the peopl
